Knox  was established with the goal of using as many quality, natural products as possible to nurture the hair and scalp of our clients. Along the way, we discovered that most products contain ingredients that cause contact dermatitis and scalp inflammation.This led us to develop a texture altering system that does not contain any of these ingredients. We use jojoba oil, sunflower seed oil, aloe, turmeric, and other plant-based ingredients to create vegan products with no parabens, silicones, or polyethylene glycols (PEGs). 
Curly hair shrinks in length when wet. It can become very tangled and unmanageable. Very often curly hair becomes dry and brittle. It is also prone to breakage during chemical processing, leaving the hair damaged and less desirable. Other Products have a higher chemical content which can lead to over processing of the hair, hair damage, scalp irritation or scalp burns. Texture Altering System relies on low levels of the chemical content, emollients, oils and natural ingredients that prevent over processing of the hair. Also preventing damage and irritation to the scalp.
Texture Altering System allows people to control super curly and curly hair by visibly extending the length and reducing the amount of volume and shrinkage. Also leaving the hair healthy, shiny, moisturized, and in its close-to-natural state.

Is the Texture Altering System a Relaxer?

No. Relaxers straighten curly hair. Our texture altering system gently and slowly loosens your curl pattern, leaving the natural hair texture slightly altered from its original state.

How Often Should I Get It Done?

Getting the texture altering treatment done two to three times a year will keep your hair manageable. However, if you would like to always have fully manageable hair, it can be done every 6 to 10 weeks.

Can I Get My Hair Texture Altered If I Have Color-Treated Hair?

Yes. Texture altering is safe for color-treated hair. However, if the hair is not in healthy condition (with or without color processing), texture altering is not recommended.

Can My Young Daughter Get Her Hair Texture Altered?

Yes, texture altering is great for children over 8 years old.

Can I Get Texture Altering Done Immediately After I Take Out My Braids?

No. It is best to have your hair clean, dried, and detangled 48 hours before your texture altering service.
